Calacatta Violet Marble
Calacatta Violet Marble, also known as Caracata violet or purple-patterned marble, is sourced from the Carara region of Tuscany, Italy. That place is truly remarkable. The exquisite craftsmanship of the Italians and the rare fine stones come together here. The base color of this stone is bright white or milky white, with prominent purple patterns on it. Some are like plum colors, while others are a bit like wine red. Each one looks different, just like a work of art.
When it comes to color and texture, they are really eye-catching. Among the natural patterns, there are light purple, violet, deep purple-red, and even Burgundy. Occasionally, some stone slabs may also have a touch of gold, which is particularly eye-catching.
In terms of sturdiness, it is a medium-hardness marble with a Mohs hardness of approximately 3. The water absorption rate is between 0.2 and 0.5, the density is approximately 2,700 kilograms per cubic meter, the compressive strength can reach 100 to 150 megapascals, and the wear resistance and toughness are both acceptable. It is quite suitable for interior decoration with moderate foot traffic.
